1. Our approach to cookies
We keep tracking to an absolute minimum. This website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics and only the strictly-necessary cookies required to make the site and product work. We do not use advertising cookies, social pixels for retargeting, or cross-site trackers on the marketing site.
This Cookie Policy should be read with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy), which explains personal-data categories and rights more broadly.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a site can store on your device. Related technologies include local storage, session storage and pixels. They can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another domain). They may be strictly necessary (required for security, auth, load balancing or remembering essential preferences) or optional (analytics with identifiers, personalization, advertising).
Under ePrivacy rules in the EEA/UK and Québec Law 25, non-essential technologies that identify or profile a person generally require consent or must be off by default. Our design goal is to avoid non-essential cookies entirely on the marketing site.
3. Cookies & storage we use
| Name / type | Purpose | Category | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers language choice (English, French, Spanish) | Strictly necessary | Up to 1 year |
| Session / auth cookies | Keep you signed in to the product; protect sessions | Strictly necessary | Session or as required for security |
| CSRF / security tokens | Protect against cross-site request forgery and abuse | Strictly necessary | Session |
| Cookie notice | Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice | Strictly necessary (preference) | Up to 1 year |
That's the intentional set on the marketing site. The product app may set additional strictly-necessary session and security cookies when you sign in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on maxorconnect.com.
4. Analytics without cookies
For website statistics we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first tool that sets no cookies, stores no personal profiles and creates no cross-site or cross-device identifiers. It provides aggregate counts — page views, referrers, countries — without a persistent ID for you. Plausible is hosted in the European Union.
Because Plausible is cookieless and non-identifying, it is not treated as a non-essential tracking cookie under our design. We do not use Google Analytics advertising features, Meta Pixel, or similar trackers on the marketing site.
5. Managing cookies
Because we only use strictly-necessary cookies on the marketing site, there is nothing to opt out of for advertising analytics. You can still clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent parts of the product from working (for example, staying signed in or language preference).
- Browser settings typically under Privacy / Cookies (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge each differ).
- Private/incognito mode limits persistence of cookies after the session.
- Enterprise device policies may further restrict storage.
6. Québec residents (Law 25)
MaxorConnect is distributed in Canada, and we align practices with Québec's Law 25. Law 25 requires that any technology used to identify, locate or profile a person be deactivated by default.
Because we use only strictly-necessary cookies and cookieless analytics that never build an advertising profile of you, there is no profiling technology to switch off on the marketing site — privacy by default is the design. Québec residents keep every right described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes
If we introduce new cookies or similar technologies, we will update this page first and, where the law requires consent, request it before setting non-essential cookies.
